Outside Sales - Technical Account Manager

Location: Remote - Houston Texas metro area

We connect our valued partners in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas with quality and reliable manufacturer's electrical products.

We were established in Houston in 2008 and focused on hazardous area motor control as SP Solutions has grown into Specified Power Solutions, LLC with sales support in 5 states over the last 16 years.

Our strong relationship with distribution partners in our territories promotes the reliable environment that the electrical industry depends on. Our sales staff work to maintain relationships with our partners to be available for technical design and industry experience to assist in simple and complex control and power reliability designs.

Position - Outside Sales

Meets with customers in person to identify their needs and close sales deals. Their main duties include traveling to assigned territories to meet with potential and current customers, negotiating sales contracts, and telling clients about new products, updates, and features. Responsible for generating sales growth by building on existing relationships and developing new accounts and opportunities.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Industrial Distribution preferred
or Associates Degree and 2+ years Industry and Sales Experience
or 4+ years Industry and Sales Experience

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for increasing sales by developing and maintaining relationships with customers and clients. Duties may include identifying prospective customers, following up on potential sales leads, and maintaining relationships with existing customers. Outside Sales Representatives may also recommend marketing strategies designed for a target market such as targeted trainings and trade shows.

  • Identify and establish contact with potential customers
  • Schedule and perform product demonstrations with potential customers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers
  • Attend industry trade shows to identify potential sales leads and make meaningful contact with existing customers
  • Follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales
  • Recommend marketing strategies to target a specific region or demographic
  • Identify and qualify prospective accounts
  • Negotiate contracts and sales agreements
  • Generate and submit sales reports to management

Skills

  • Must be assertive and goal-driven with a desire for success and income growth
  • Must be able to work remotely and independently without direct supervision
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Familiarity with industrial electric industries
  • Detail-oriented and organized with good time management skills
